Cristina CamPbell, MA, LPC

Cristina obtained her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Texas A&M University. While at Texas A&M, she was involved in extensive research projects and presented her findings to other university programs including The University of Houston.  She received her master’s degree in counseling psychology from The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. She has experience working in several treatment settings including residential treatment, juvenile justice, psychiatric inpatient, traditional outpatient, research and testing, and community mental health.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor, she has worked with people in every stage of life from childhood and adolescence, through adulthood and senior care. She has helped individuals in numerous areas including domestic violence and sexual offenses, substance abuse, blended family integration, self-esteem, establishing boundaries, depression, anxiety, mood disorders, and personality disorders.  She brings years of psychological testing, research, juvenile justice and sex offense rehabilitation into her practice in order to better serve her community today.

Cristina’s approach to therapy utilizes a foundation that life experiences, even as early as childhood, shape our view of the world around us, how we relate to others, and how we view ourselves.  These experiences, in turn, shape our beliefs, thoughts, perceptions and interactions throughout every aspect of our lives. She works with individuals to heal those wounds to work towards a healthier and more fulfilling life.

Cristina derives some of her practical and applicable strategies to help clients from both professional experiences and personal perspectives. Her experience as a wife, bonus mom to two young children going into adolescence, her own journey of faith, and time spent with the animals she adores, affords her the ability to utilize these relationships to help communicate the many ways in which clients interactions with the world around them can be beneficial and become a catalyst for growth and healing. The approach she has crafted over the course of her career is also part of her own journey to understand her experiences and how those have helped develop her view of, and commitment to each person with whom she connects.

Her practice focuses on a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Person-Centered Therapy.  Integrating the two of these, along with various other therapeutic modalities allows her to address her clients’ needs and goals in the most effective and sustaining way for each individual. She believes in creating a safe and encouraging environment for her clients to promote emotional well-being and confidence to overcome the challenges and obstacles we all face in life.
