Kaylee criswell, MS, LPC, NCC

Kaylee is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Nationally Certified Counselor specializing in the treatment of adults and couples. Kaylee works with individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, and trauma recovery, using Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy. This approach helps you uncover your incredible ability to change your thinking to enhance your life. Kaylee enjoys helping couples who are struggling to connect with each other by working to understand the lived experiences of both members of the couple, and fostering healthy communication patterns. Drawing from an Emotionally Focused Therapeutic Model, Kaylee helps to identify barriers to connection, and works to help you develop new patterns of interaction, leaving both you and your partner feeling heard and understood. This approach helps Kaylee in working with couples experiencing frustrations in co-parenting, a loss of intimacy, and an overall sense of hopelessness in the relationship. Kaylee has trained with some of the leading relationship therapists in the country.

Using a systems approach with both individuals and couples, Kaylee helps you understand the different elements of your environment impacting your ability to engage in your life in the way you desire. She believes that in the context of safe relationships, people can change and grow the most, thus provoking her to connect with you on a fundamentally human level. Kaylee helps you apply the power of connection to your life outside of therapy, to engage more meaningfully in both your personal and professional relationships. She wants you to understand yourself and develop empathy for yourself; she models this by accepting you for who you are every time you are together. Throughout the process of therapy, Kaylee will offer helpful tools, feedback, and resources to help you meet your goals. She regularly checks in to make sure you feel heard, encourages you to be yourself, and specializes treatment for each client.

Kaylee graduated from the University of North Texas with a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Kaylee’s diverse professional experiences ease her in connecting with a variety of clients. Kaylee has worked as a high school educator, crisis and group therapist in the hospital setting, and private practice therapist serving individuals, couples and families. Kaylee is a member of the American Counseling Association and the Texas Counseling Association.
