I’m Mary Bennett, a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S) with a passion for helping adolescents, women, adults, couples, and families navigate challenges like anxiety, depression, life transitions, and relationship struggles. Using evidence-based approaches like Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness techniques, I provide a safe, nonjudgmental space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and goals. My mission is to help you uncover your strengths, build resilience, and create a more fulfilling life. I am also a board approved LPC Supervisor and passionate about helping LPC Associates refine their skills as they embark on their careers.

Education

I earned my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Texas and have extensive experience working with chemically dependent individuals and leading Intensive Outpatient and Partial Hospitalization programs in hospital settings. My diverse experience  allows me to address a wide range of concerns: from mild stress management and growth and development in your life, to emotional regulation, trauma work and substance abuse recovery.

My Philosophy

I think you (the client) are the expert in yourself. My ultimate and most important role is to support, encourage, and cheer you on as you move through your life towards the best version of you–a you have always wanted to be. I also know the importance of learning and implementing skills--and learning and growing your skills to help in this evolution. I use this combination to help support you and build our relationship.

Empathy & Understanding

I like to build long-term relationships with clients, to help them through the issue that brings them into therapy to begin with, but also to help them explore the reasons deep down that started the patterns and help resolve them. I use humor, humility, and vulnerability in emotions to help clients connect.
